Step One: Saving the images to your computer.
***************************
Step Two: Once the above is done time to host all the images ^^ several places to do that one being www.photobucket.com which is great if your hosting a lot of images another is www.imageshack.com those are two good ones.. But get that done you will need them later.
***************************
Step Three: Assuming your done with step four are you? Good to hear now step five time to get to work ^^ I need you to go to your Admin Panel... Now once there I know it look daunting don't it? I mean look at all that stuff there where do I look? Well that is what I'm here for. OK I need you to find the words 'Customize Your Forum' ............ Did you find it? Ah good to hear well then I need you to look at the links that are listed right below it...... Good now need you to find the one that says 'Skins / Forum Colors' and click it once you find it let you do that while I head over to step six....
***************************
Step Four: Did you click the link? If not go back to step three and do it over again I will wait here for you.... Oh you did do step three well then that's good...
Now you should see a line of Links and yada yada text looks like this in your Admin Panel.
Skins / Forum Colors
Skins Home - Create Skin - Modify Skin - Delete Skin - Set Default Skin - Customize Images
From this area you can modify the colors and images of your forum. You can also create multiple color schemes for your forum, each called a "skin." If you create more than one skin, your members can select which one they would like to use while viewing your forum.
To create a new skin for your forum, select "Create Skin" from the menu above. If you wish to modify an existing skin, choose
"Modify Skin." To remove any of your current skins, click on "Delete Skin" from the menu. To customize the images for you skins, click "Customize Images."
Now as you can see ignore all but Create Skin - Modify Skin these are the two we are explaining here.. Now I ask you are you Making a New Skin or Remaking an Old one? I let you pick here but I will be using the Modify Skin for this tutorial.
Now once you have click the link you want you come to a new screen If you clicked the Make new one well you will have gone straight to the skin making where I who chose the Modify a skin feature have another screen I must do which is which skin I want to modify which you pick from a drop down Menu most people only have one or two because of the coding so lets pick the default one for now..
Well another new window... Now if you were making a new skin you would need to put a name for the skin where a pre-made one I don't unless you want to change it. No onto the inserting of the colors Hope you remembered to upload the Background because you will need it for this screen. OK go open the Note Pad Called Color Chart you will need it here..
Got it? Good now all you do is Copy and paste the Hex codes which are 6 digit and letter codes you can either copy/paste them or type them in manually. Might be a good time to stick the background in while you are at it. All you need to do is place the image url in the field provided and also the little drop-down menu below it is for if you want the board to float over the background or not I always set it to yes for it annoys me to have a background that scrolls with the board as it scrolls.
Now once you have all the color codes done for that skin go down and hit 'Modify Skin' and once you do this if your Modifying a skin it will take you back to the Admin panel if you are Making a new skin it will take you to a small skin with two links one that will take you to the Skin Images and one that takes you back to the Admin panel. Pick the one that goes to the Images....
***************************
Step Five: The images if you did the advice above for making a new skin skip a part of what I'm about to say.
Those that Modified a skin go back in to the 'Skins / Forum Colors' then go to the very last link and press the 'Customize Images' link an pick the skin you just modified from the drop down menu.
Now we are where if you made a New skin can pay attention again ^^ here is where you can customize the skins Images and Buttons and such simply find the right area to put the images provided in this download which would be the new and old icons you need to go here 'Folders' New/Old are the top two images of both columns. stick the URLs of each in the fields they go to.
You would do the same thing for all the other images if you had any. No that that's done go down and hit a save button called 'Save Changes' there are plenty of them so just hit any of them. And then that parts done...
***************************
Step Six.... Hard part here this part involves the coding.... now you will need the other two images you have hosted and the two Note Pads call Global Headers and the one called Global Footers then go to the Admin Panel which you should already be in and hit 'Headers and Footers' once there you will see a drop down menu there are Main Headers and Global Headers then you got the Board headers which go to each board on your forum But here we wont the Global Headers and Footers so select the Global one. once there you will see two large open boxes.
Now get you Global Headers Note Pad open OK and put the URLs of your images where it says to in the code.
.newstitlebg
{
background-image: url(Title Image);
background-repeat: repeat;
}
.titlebg
{
background-image: url(Title Image);
background-repeat: repeat;
}
.catbg
{
background-image: url(Category Image);
background-repeat: repeat;
}
.menubg
{
background-image: url(Title Image);
background-repeat: repeat;
That part of the code note that is not the full code... The full one is in the Skin Threads. Now once you have edited the code copy paste all the codes and paste them into the Top Box then go to the Global Footers and copy paste what is there into the bottom box and then SAVE and you should be done, go to the main page and have a look at all your work.
